Welcome to the T.R.A.N.S.L.A.T.E. Lab

The T.R.A.N.S.L.A.T.E. Lab is dedicated to advancing assistive technology research and expanding accessibility through human-centered innovation.

Our Mission

The T.R.A.N.S.L.A.T.E. Lab advances the science and application of assistive technology to transform rehabilitation and expand accessibility for people with disabilities. Through rigorous, human-centered research, we develop solutions that close the gap between existing technology and the real-world needs of the individuals we serve.

Our Vision

A world in which every person, regardless of ability, has access to the assistive tools and rehabilitative solutions they need to live, learn, and contribute fully. The T.R.A.N.S.L.A.T.E. Lab envisions technology as a bridge, not a barrier, to empowerment.

Core Values

  • Human-centered design: every project begins and ends with the people it serves.
  • Rigor and reproducibility: we hold our research to the highest standards of scientific integrity.
  • Inclusivity: our team, our methods, and our outcomes reflect the diversity of the communities we serve.
  • Mentorship: students are full contributors to the lab's mission and are recognized as such.
  • Openness: we share our work broadly so that others can build on it.

Translational Impact: Our Projects
